Wordsmith is like having Memo Pad on steroids. I've had this for a couple of years now and love it. I just wanted a better Memo Pad/Memos program, and this is FREE (as long as you don't need editing for Word documents, which I currently don't). I now have v. 2.2.27, the last available version made. It supports my 480x320 landscape screen on my Tapwave Zodiac, is extremely stable, and has a myriad of features. I've bought other Memo Pad replacement software in the past, but for me, Wordsmith is still the best.

Buyer Beware! No longer in development.
I purchased this app about 3 years ago, and have been waiting patiently for support for tables ever since. I emailed tech support recently, and they informed me that "WordSmith development has been put on hold", as they are concentrating on their backup software.
I just bought a T5, and it came bundled with a competitor's product, which DOES support tables, and is regularly updated. I was a loyal Wordsmith user for some time, but now I see no reason to use a program that the developer has no interest in maintaining.

In this era of lackluster and incompetent tech support coupled with offshore call centres, Blue Nomad customer support for their products is outstanding! I'm a writer, so Wordsmith is important to me for making revisions on chapter drafts or feature articles while travelling. A superb software product - with matching support. Kudos.

I have been using Wordsmith for a number of years. But Blue Nomad has fallen behind in keeping the software up to date. On newer devices, my latest being a Treo 650, it has a number of glitches. For example, using left/right of 5-way hardware key would cause the cursor to jump to the front or back of a line! Huh? It used to allow users to scroll forward/backward a character at a time. Chosing fonts, if I choose size "3", font looks prefect when viewing documents, but they are HUGH when view notes. "2" looks good on notes, but way too small viewing docs. Also, latest version doesn't work with Textplus. After searching Blue Nomad website, there's a small statement stating that recent changes made it incompatible with Textplus. For a word processing application not to work with words and phrases suggestion software just doesn't make sense.

There are other 'suites' that offer additional functions but I have no need for spreadsheets and the suchlike. I'm a teacher and I store and edit all my class notes on my Clie using Wordsmith. Then I sync it with my PC every night. It works like a dream! Wordsmith is also my default book reader as it can handle fine type fonts, works in landscape mode on my UX50 and the auto-scroll is very smooth and easily adjustable. I've had one query in the year I've been using the program and their support team answered my email the same day! Excellent!
